Gadgetbridge 0.93.0: More devices, better charts and improved support¶

This release adds support for a wide range of new smartwatches, fitness trackers, headphones, bike computers, and other gadgets. Garmin, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Health Connect integrations receive numerous improvements, while new charts, navigation support, and device controls make Gadgetbridge more useful across a growing number of devices.

New Devices¶

This release adds initial or experimental support for many new devices, including:

Garmin¶

Garmin support receives a large number of improvements in this release:

Improved activity synchronization, including the new sync protocol
Improved recovery when the service connection drops
Better connection support for the Garmin HRM Pro+
Added point winds support
Notification when OAuth credentials expire
Fixed duplicated activities on some devices
Fixed crashes during number parsing and Bluetooth disconnection
Fixed activity sync signals and race conditions
Improved synchronization reliability on various devices
Performance condition charts are now shown in a standalone group
Experimental support for Garmin CIRQA and Fenix 5S Plus

Huawei and Honor¶

Huawei and Honor devices receive a number of new capabilities and fixes:

Per-sample workout metrics such as heart rate, speed, cadence, and altitude are now stored in activity tracks
GPS tracks can be uploaded to compatible Huawei devices
Basic offline map support has been added
Improved calendar synchronization
Improved activity synchronization on recent watches
Large music uploads no longer risk running out of memory
Honor Band 7, 9, and 10 receive experimental support
Honor Watch 5, Watch 5 Pro, and Watch 6 receive initial support

The HUAWEI FreeClip 2 also receives dedicated support, including adaptive volume, additional media volume controls, headphone finding, and low-latency mode.

Charts and activity data¶

Charts have been expanded and improved:

Added a cumulative calories daily chart
Battery voltage, current, power, and temperature can now be shown in charts
Charts now respect unit preferences
Activity-specific units are used where appropriate
FIT exports now include local timestamps, distance, elevation, and step length
GPX import and export now supports power data
Workouts can have a header photo set

Health Connect and Sleep as Android¶

Health Connect synchronization receives several fixes and improvements:

Fixed sleep sessions being written with truncated stages
Fixed sleep synchronization being cut off on some devices
Fixed synchronization of GPS routes (including very long ones)

Sleep as Android now supports Huami devices using the pre-Zepp OS protocol, Garmin devices, and Xiaomi-protobuf devices. SpO2 synchronization has also been added for Huami devices.

Navigation support continues to improve:

CoMaps can now provide navigation instructions
InfiniTime shows navigation completion percentage and additional icons
Huawei devices can upload GPS tracks

Endurain can now receive workout photos, and various integrations have received smaller improvements and fixes. Quick Settings tiles have also been added for some devices, including AAWireless, Sinilink, Shokz, Sony Headphones, and Xiaomi scooters.

Headphones and audio devices¶

Several headphones and audio devices receive new or improved support:

Sony WF-1000XM4 now supports voice notifications
Sony WH-ULT900N has more features enabled
Soundcore Sport X20 functionality has been extended
HUAWEI FreeClip 2 adds adaptive volume, additional media volume, headphone finding, and low-latency mode
Soundcore Life Tune XR receives initial support
Haylou S35 ANC receives initial support

Xiaomi and Zepp OS¶

Xiaomi-protobuf support receives several improvements:

Added dynamic vibration pattern configuration
Improved daily and workout summary parsing
Workout details are now parsed
Fixed cloudy weather icons
Improved parsing for the Mi Band 9 Active
Zepp OS devices now correctly handle temperature and distance units.

Other Changes¶

There are plenty of smaller improvements across Gadgetbridge:

Bangle.js now supports notification actions
Casio GBD-200 gains world time / world clocks support and improved activity session synchronization
Casio notifications with long Unicode text are now handled correctly
H59 receives alarm support
Pebble adds support for Weather Land and Love Weather watchfaces
"Google Messages" is now recognized as an SMS app
SoFlow is correctly identified as a scooter
Victron SmartShunt now persists battery power and current
Withings receives an improved connection flow
Yawell Rings temperature synchronization to Health Connect has been fixed
Multiple Find Phone activities can no longer be opened at the same time
The Internet Helper provides improved error feedback
Debug weather data is now randomized for testing

A number of crashes and edge cases have also been fixed, including crashes when opening the map view and issues with step counts around midnight after a timezone change.

You can get the latest release from F-Droid, IzzyOnDroid and on our releases page.

If you install Gadgetbridge directly from our releases page you will need to track updates manually! To be sure that you're running an updated version we recommend the use of an app repository like F-Droid or IzzyOnDroid. Another alternative is to use Obtainium to download and update directly from Codeberg.
